Shoes Glorious Shoes!

Man, I freaking love shoes. Like a lot. The annoying this is that I just don't have the pennies to buy all the many pairs my heart does so desire. However, recently I just couldn't help myself when I saw these random looking sexual beings on ebay.

They are wedges with a gorgeous leopard print design on the heel.

But I think what really drew me to buy these was the quirky wing effect on the sides of the shoes! If you know me, you will know that I am drawn to anything leopard print and anything with a wing design! All it's missing is a number 7 printed on them and I'd have my favourite things :) (not really.. I just have a love for the number 7!)

I've never really bought wedges, always seemed to have overlooked them, but LLLOOOOOKKKK at them! In love. I shall be skipping around in these lovelies on friday night at my best friends engagement party :) Im going to mix patterns and team these with a lovely black floral dress I bought... I dont even care.

You can find these lovelies here for a very good price too!!

I had a wee scan through the net for some other unusual wedges too and found some beautiful ones!

Fancy looking like a total badass? These are AMAZING and can be found here on Etsy.

Or you could look like you should be married to Willy Wonka. These are adorable! SO cute and only £16.99 here on ebay!

Or how would you like to potentially break your ankle? It's a price to pay for the luxury of wearing these pretty things. Find them here with other design options too!

I am officially lusting over these. They are BEAUTIFUL. Find them here!

Interview with Pretty Little Charms UK

From my brother for Christmas I received a beautiful necklace that I have barely taken off.
It is this 'Mockingjay' necklace, inspired by the Hunger Games books (yep, I've mentioned them again.. Sorry...).

Anyway, I love unusual jewellery, especially pieces which you would not find easilly. I decided to check out the sellers Etsy store and she has so many other wonderful pieces of jewellery. What I love about them is that they are inspired by literature. You can wear your own precious piece of your favourite book anytime. Lovely :)

I got in contact with business owner Leigh and asked if she would be like to be a feature on my blog; since I love her stuff so much I thought I would show you too. She agreed and here it is, just a little insight into Pretty Little Charms UK:

Tell me a little bit about your business...

Pretty Little Charms UK began on Etsy in June 2011 but I've been making jewellery for years. The online shop happened by chance when my boyfriend was moved to Spain for work and I decided to quit my graduate job to go with him. I started listing items on Etsy and the response has been great - apparently there are lots of other people who like jewellery inspired by books too :)

What made you want to start jewellery making?

was into every kind of 'craft' imaginable from a young age but eventually I discovered jewellery making and that's the one that really stuck - I liked creating and wearing unique pieces and for years have created jewellery inspired by my favourite literature.

How much time do you dedicate to making your pieces or is it just a hobby?

I spend far too long making jewellery! It's a hobby and now my full-time job so I spend about 12 hours a day 7 days a week making jewellery, working on the Etsy shop and making trips to the post office.

You are inspired by books, what's your favourite book of all time?
My favourite book of all time is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I love all the Harry Potter books but that one is my favourite. My favourite recent book is The Hunger Games and I can't wait for the premier next month!

And on a random note, 5 things you couldnt live without?

1- My books (Particularly Harry Potter and Hunger Games!)
2- My boyfriend (who cooks for me when I'm too busy to move from my workroom)
3- My jewellery making supplies (I don't know what I'd do all day without them)
4- My iMac (Despite how much I use it, and despite it being two years old it still works perfectly)
5- Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (I just love them!)

I love her work, and if you do too, check out her Etsy store http://www.etsy.com/shop/PrettyLittleCharmsUK for more beautiful jewellery inspired by books!

Friday Finds - Valentines Theme

Today I have chosen a lovely Valentines Day theme. Now, this is for both the single and the taken ladies! I have found some items that would be just perfect for the occasion (and for any other time really!) from online stores that I think you will love!

Impress your man or just make yourself feel fabulous... How about this STUNNING ensemble from 'What Katie Did'. I'm a sucker for leopard print, and when teamed with underwear it is very sexy. What Katie Did sells a range of fabulous vintage inspired lingerie, perfect for your inner vixen! This suspender belt costs £32.50 and is gorgeous (and perfect for smoothing out your belly!) and the bra is £37.50 and made with slightly see-through material so you can be a total tease! Find this range along with many other beautiful sets at www.whatkatiedid.com :)

And for accessories, how about this rather unique piece of jewellery? This Etsy seller creates the most unique jewellery! This 'I Only Have Eyes For You' (get it) necklace is pretty cool. It works for the theme of this post and appeals to my weird sense of humor (and I'm a scientist by day who specialises in eyes!). LOVE THIS. You can find the 'Bottled Up Creations' store here where you will find this unusual piece for £9.74!

For Valentines day MAC are promoting three fabulous shades of lippy to make you feel glamorous! From left to right we have a deep brown-red called 'Dare you', a yellow-red called 'Cockney' and a beautiful berry called 'Hang Up'. The collection is called 'A Shade of Red for Every Heart' -  how lovely! Each cost £13.50 and can be found online (or in store depending on your location).

How about those nails? I chose these two shades to show you as they are both gorgeous and appeal to different moods; we have the red 'DO YA THINK I'M SEXY?' for, well, looking sexy and the pink 'CANDY SHOP' for a cuter, softer look. They are both glitters and my experience with Deborah Lippman nail polish is positive; great colours and great staying power! You can find them online here at $18 each :)

Night in? Whether its by yourself, with some ladies or cosying up with your man, why not cosy up with this pretty jumper! I love this and its only £12.99 on www.missrebel.co.uk!

How about something super cute? It's bloody cold in scotland so here are some perfect little heart shaped ear muffs to keep you warm! They are only £7.99 by Accessoryo and can be found here. (I was going to show you these awesome heart shaped glasses they have which they sent me, however I can no longer see them on the website and havent had the chance to take a photo yet! Will try and do that soon as they are super cute!).

Got a date? I found this beautiful, romantic styled, little black dress on Etsy (can you tell I love Etsy.com??). Its classy, but sexy too with one little laced shoulder strap. Teamed with some beautiful heels and you're good to go. This can be found at the Inbal S store on Etsy.com or by clicking here and is only £35.70. Gorgeous.

Anyway, just a few lovely things for you to look at!
Keep checking back for a post about my recent experience with a hot wax manicure and a review of two newly purchased Rockalily shades, including the new ZOMG!

Violet Delight

How to Get Pastel Purple Hair

I have recently changed my hair colour (yet again). I'm never happy with how it looks and forever changing it. I've had it blonde, bright red, dark red, black, brown and now I'm back at blonde. Anddddd, I got bored again. So I thought I would experiment with colour! If you've read my  early 2012 wishlist post you will see that I quite like the idea of having pastel purple tones through blonde hair. (I also quite like it all over but I'm not up for that just yet!).

So I tried it and I love it!

This is me on the left looking utterly stupid. But you can see the purple through my hair :) (oh and thats my silly best friend Anne - hi anne!).

So here's how it's done:

You will need a lovely purple hair dye, preferably semi-permanent. The one I used is La Riche Directions in 'Violet'

Then simply mix one part Violet to two parts hair conditioner (any one will do, just whatever is in your shower!)
The colour should probably be a little darker than this shown below.

Then, simply section your hair and apply to the desired strands of blonde/bleached hair :) Best to do this with tin foil (I did not as was in a rush, hence the mess!) Leave for approx 20 mins and wash out :)

Simples.

Quick, easy and affordable. Doesn't last too long so if you want it looking great be sure to redo every 10 days or so.

You can purchase Directions hair dye for a good price on amazon here and they often send you a free brush too :D

Song of today is 'Purple Rain' by Prince. A STUNNING song, and well, it has purple in the name, kinda appropriate huh?

Valentines Day Glossy Box!

Well, well, well, just when I thought I couldn't be any more impressed with the Glossyboxes I have received (especially after the fabulous christmas box!) I opened this pink box of AWESOMENESS! I am very impressed with this.

If you haven't heard of GlossyBox, you're missing out! For just £12.95 a month (including postage) you receive 5 products to try out. At least one is a make up item and at least one is full size. However, even the sample sizes are great. Visit www.glossybox.co.uk for more info and to read their fabby blog, full of reviews and recommendations!

Clarins Extra Firming Day and Night Cream

So, the first thing I noticed about this box: CLARINS! What a treat to find a couple of Clarins moisturiser samples to try! They are an extremely reasonable size also, you get 15mL to play with and a little seems to go a long way. Can't write a full product review, considering I only got the box on monday, but I can tell you that I have used these a couple of times and I adore them! They are rich and have a luxurious velvety texture and feel lovely on my dry skin and do not affect the sensitivity I often experience.

F.A.B Body Moisturizer

Chuffed to bits to find this in my box!! A while ago, my friend and I did a Glossybox product swap - I gave her a salt scrub and bath salts I had previously gotten and she gave me the F.A.B facial cleanser! I adore the cleanser, it doesn't dry out my skin and leaves it feeling nice and soft. This body moisturiser seems to be just as nice! It's lovely and soft and doesn't have a smell that would interfere with my perfume! My skin is left feeling nourished and healthy :)

Eyeko London Skinny Eyeliner

This eyeliner is lovely! I wouldn't normally choose a dark blue colour because I much prefer black but this one is a nice dark shade of blue. I also love everything about the packaging and the design of the pencil is so different!

Murad Skin Perfecting Primer

I haven't had much time to play about with this product as yet but I'm so intrigued! I've been needing a new primer so was chuffed to bits to find this in the box! It looks a lot darker than I expected, however it seems to blend into my skin perfectly and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. Have only used it once so will need to try it a few times to see just how good a primer it is!

What a great glossy box this month, let's hope every month this year will be good!

And what a nice touch with this little sweety!!
